Can the Brooklyn Nets make it to the 2018-19 NBA playoffs?

Easily one of the most entertaining teams to watch this NBA season (apart from the usual suspects and top contenders) are the surprisingly game Brooklyn Nets. As of this writing, the team is riding a six-game winning streak and sporting 27 wins, placing them currently in sixth place in the highly competitive East.

If the team manages to maintain its steady play, it’s almost a guarantee that they will return to the playoffs this year, enthused long-time Nets fan and Main Street Advisor Steven Rindner. En route to this win streak is the Nets going 8-2 in their last 10 games, punctuated by convincing wins against top-ranked teams the Boston Celtics and the Houston Rockets.

What’s making their wins more exciting is the great camaraderie among the players and the fun way in which they are learning to win close games, propelled by recent stellar plays of all-star caliber guards D’Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie. While these two can hit buckets in succession, their hot shooting is paired with composed plays by their supporting cast composed of Joe Harris, DeMarre Carroll, Ed Davis, and stellar center Jarrett Allen.

It’s still too early to guarantee a postseason stint for this fledgling team, but the collective attitude and composure surrounding the team surely makes it likely that they’re on their way there. The Nets were lamented by NBA experts at the beginning of the season for constantly buckling under the pressure, but lately they’ve found the right chemistry and dedication to defense to secure a string of wins.

Assuming lower-positioned teams like the Heat, Hornets, and Pistons don’t find their own run, we might be finally seeing the Nets in the playoffs, adds Main Street Advisor Steven Rindner. After all, the roster is near completion with the imminent return from injury of Allen Crabbe. Still, a lot depends on how the team fares in big games against Milwaukee and Toronto leading to mid-February.
